Light chocolate malt can add dark chocolate and coffee-like characters to the final distilled product.
Remember this is a specialty malt so contains little to no enzymes.
Chocolate pairs wonderfully with flaked oats in our opinion. Chocolate and coffee flavors from the specialty malt. Silky creaminess from the oats. It's almost mocha-like!
Our suggestions on usage percentages
1-3% for a subtle "is it actually there" complexity
3-6% Gentle undertones of chocolate and coffee
6-8% Obviously noticeable
8-15% Starts to become the star of the show
